The Canadian Sponsorship Forum and TIFF join forces to present Canada’s premier sponsorship event
August 9, 2007

Toronto, ONTARIO – August 9, 2007 – The Canadian Sponsorship Forum is back for its third year and organizers are proud to be partnering with the Toronto International Film Festival to present this world-class professional development event.

Forum producers, TrojanOne launched the Forum in 2005 in conjunction with the CFL and the Grey Cup. In 2006, delegates were hosted by the Calgary Exhibition & Stampede. The Forum’s unique format includes traditional conference content, but adds a special level of programming around that year’s partner. This year, delegates will get a taste of what the World’s most influential public film festival is all about and witness how sponsors like Starbucks, VISA and Cadillac activate their partnerships. Delegates will enjoy VIP parties, private screenings, visits from Festival luminaries and the first 200 full registrants will get a chance to experience the Official Toronto International Film Festival Closing Night Gala & party.

New to the Forum for 2007 is the Forum’s association with the Institute for Sport Marketing (ISM). Over the course of the summer, ISM has been conducting a comprehensive research study on the size and scope of Canada’s sponsorship industry. This is a major gap in our business knowledge as no other study of its kind exists within Canada. These important findings will be presented for the first time at the Canadian Sponsorship Forum by ISM Director, Norm O’Reilly, Ph.D.

Speakers at this year’s Forum include a well-balanced look at the best in Canadian sponsorship from the realms of sport, art, culture, cause and research. Notable speakers include Janice Price, CEO of Luminato; Jack Horwitz National Director of Marketing & Communications at the United Way of Canada; Bill Cooper, Director of Commercial Rights Management for VANOC; Don Mayo, Managing Partner from IMI International; Jenny Miller, Director of the Steve Nash Foundation and many more. Those interested in the full speaker list are encouraged to visit canadiansponsorshipforum.com or call 1-888-400-2228.

The Festival is a presentation of The Toronto International Film Festival Group (TIFFG), a charitable, not-for-profit, cultural organization whose mission is to transform the way people see the world. Its vision is to lead the world in creative and cultural discovery through the moving image.
